Men’s Sitting Volleyball Head Coach Announced

Dec. 6, 2024: Volleyball Canada recently announced that Reid Brodie of Alberta will be the next men’s sitting volleyball program head coach.

Reid brings more than 20 years of diverse experience in high-performance coaching and volleyball leadership to this position. Reid has guided teams to numerous championships and developed athletes to compete at varsity, professional and national team levels during her time coaching the Dinos Women’s Volleyball Club, Team Alberta and Volleyball Canada’s women’s national development team programs.

Reid also served as the executive director of the Dinos Women’s Volleyball Club and co-founder of several impactful volleyball initiatives, including the Junior Varsity Volleyball Centre, Dinos Volleyball Academy and the EmpowerHer Sport Summit.

Reid is a NCCP Certified Performance Coach in Volleyball with her Advanced Coaching Diploma from the Canadian Sport Institute.

In her previous roles, she has proven the ability to integrate advanced technical and tactical training, mental resilience, nutrition, and leadership development to develop elite athletes and individuals on and off the court.

“On behalf of Volleyball Canada, we welcome Reid into this new role and I am excited to work with her as we begin to prepare the team for the LA 2028 quad,” said sitting volleyball high-performance director Ian Halliday.

“In addition to the head coaching role, Reid will also continue to manage the coordinator responsibilities for the men’s team exclusively, allowing for more control, autonomy and support for the men’s sitting team.”

The men’s sitting team is currently ranked 13th in the World ParaVolley rankings.
