Friday, August 22, 2025 (St. John’s) – Quebec’s Mathilde Laberge won the women’s platform event on Friday at the Canada Games in St. John’s.
In addition to her gold medal, Mathilde Laberge achieved the highest score of her career, 301.65.
“I’m really happy. It was one of my best performances. It was the best score I’ve ever had. I’m really proud because it’s been a long week. I did a lot of training. I was tired, but I never gave up and I’m really happy with the result,” she said.
Mathilde Laberge added that the electrifying atmosphere of the Canada Games motivated her to deliver a strong performance.
“The atmosphere here is truly incredible. We really have a great team spirit and we cheer each other on. The Canada Games are really a great experience,” she said.
Ontario’s Katie Buchel took second place with a score of 262.60, while Quebec’s Livia McKibbin completed the podium with 245.10.
The Canada Games diving competitions continue Saturday with the men’s platform event.
