GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN (March 8, 2025) – Les Suprêmes Junior (Saint-Léonard, Quebec) are leaving the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships with their heads held high, having delivered a season’s best performance to finish fourth in the competition on Saturday in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Originally positioned in first place after the short program, Les Suprêmes earned fourth in the free program, which caused them to drop three spots in the final ranking. The 2024 World Junior Champions earned a score of 126.18, a high for them this season, bringing their cumulative score to 200.01.
“Our program got off to a good start, we’ve made great progress over the last few weeks,” said Jennifer Passarelli, co-captain of Les Suprêmes Junior. “We’ve skated our best program of the season and we can be proud of that. I felt the energy was good and we had fun together on the ice.”
After earning 132.43 points in the free program, Teams Elite Junior of the U.S.A. was crowned the junior world champions with a total score of 205.28. They were joined on the podium by the Finnish team Fintastic (201.87) and the Skyliners (201.27), also from the U.S.A.
Team Nova Junior (Saint-Hubert, Quebec) came in seventh at the ISU World Junior Championships. They earned 111.51 points in the free program, bringing their total to 174.34.
“We are happy with what we have done!” shared Nova’s co-captain Maely Talbot. “We gave it our all on the ice, so we can be very proud of ourselves. It was very emotional to have delivered a good free program at our first junior world championships. It was a relief after all the emotions we felt during the week.”
