OTTAWA, ON (July 16, 2025) – The City of Langford will host Canada’s top mountain bike athletes this weekend from July 17-20 at the 2025 Canadian XCO/XCC Mountain Bike Championships, presented by Kazlaw. The event takes place at the renowned Jordie Lunn Bike Park, and it brings together over four hundred riders from across the country to compete for national titles in Cross-Country Olympic (XCO), Short Track (XCC), and Team Relay disciplines.
Organized by Panache Cycling Sports and sanctioned by Cycling Canada, the championships will be the key event of the Langford Bikefest, Vancouver Island’s premier off-road cycling celebration. The venue, with its world-class trails, will provide a dynamic and challenging course that tests riders’ endurance, technical skill, and race strategy. The park recently opened their 5,000 square foot clubhouse, adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere, and offering enhanced amenities for both athletes and spectators.
“We are very excited to bring the 2025 Canadian MTB XCC/XCO Championships presented by Kazlaw to Langford, British Columbia, for the first time at the new Jordie Lunn Bike Park,” says Cycling Canada Events and Officials Coordinator Alex Joubert. “Hosted by Panache Cycling Sports, an experienced UCI event organizer and in partnership with the City of Langford, this event will showcase Canada’s top cross-country MTB talent in a world-class setting. We look forward to an unforgettable championship experience watching our Elite-level athletes in addition to youth and masters’ categories race for the Canadian Champion jersey.”
Among the national champions returning to Langford is the elite women’s titleholder Jennifer Jackson (Liv Factory Racing), whose commanding ride last year secured her long-awaited gold. On the men’s side, 2024 standout Cole Punchard (Pivot Cycles OTE) returns after a breakout performance that saw him surge to victory in front of a stacked field.
The competition will kick off Thursday with the XCC Canadian Challenge. Friday hosts the XCO Masters Championships, while Saturday features the U17, Junior, U23, and Elite XCO Championship races. The weekend wraps up on Sunday with the Team Relay, showcasing provincial and trade teams in a spirited display of teamwork and speed.
The 2025 Championships has put an emphasis on inclusive event programming by incorporating “Challenge” events for youth, sport, and masters’ riders to ensure cyclists of all levels can participate in and experience competitive, national-level racing.
