[Sunday, August 17, 2025] The crowd gathered at the Victoriaville Golf Club was treated to a memorable final, as Joey Savoie was crowned champion of the 2025 edition of the Victoriaville–Fenergic Canada Cup, powered by Groupe Anderson, Victoriaville & Co, and Groupe Laquerre, with a cumulative score of -21. The golfer from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu did not have an easy end to the round, but still managed to keep his cool to win ahead of Brandon Lacasse.
A two-way battle until the very end
The fourth round was quite a spectacle, with a thrilling duel between Savoie and Lacasse. Joey had a 4-stroke lead at the start of the round, but Brandon managed to close the gap with several birdies. In the end, it was an incredible sand shot on the 18th hole that sealed the victory for Joey Savoie.
“I feel relieved. It’s very difficult to win a golf tournament. There are so many good players, the competition is so fierce, and today I didn’t have the best in my bag! I’m relieved and happy to come away with the victory,” he said.
With this triumph, Savoie pockets the $35,000 prize money and becomes the second Quebecer to lift the Victoriaville-Fenergic Canada Cup trophy after Étienne Papineau in 2023.
A tournament that shines at all levels
On the amateur side, William Boudreault (-5) and Alexandre Mercier (-5) distinguished themselves by winning the Subway Trophy, awarded to the best amateur players in the tournament.
In total, more than 140 professional and amateur golfers took part in the event, competing for a total prize pool of $140,000, the largest in the country for an independent tournament.
A successful 12th edition across the board
Once again, the success of the Canada Cup was based on flawless organization and remarkable commitment from the entire local community. The Victoriaville Golf Club, carefully prepared, offered a high-level technical challenge. The public, volunteers, sponsors, starting with Fenergic, the City of Victoriaville, and the PGA of Québec, all contributed to making this 12th edition a resounding success.
“It’s an honor to be part of organizing such a major tournament. We feel that the players really enjoy participating, and that’s what drives us to do more every year,” says Éric Couture, Executive Director of the PGA of Québec.
See you in 2026
All eyes are already on next year, when the tournament will return for an even more exciting 13th edition. Once again, Victoriaville will be the epicenter of Canadian professional golf for an unforgettable week.
