IMPORTANT NOTICE: Amendments to 2019 Dressage Competition Handbook and Freestyle Test Sheets

Equestrian Canada – In both the 2019 Competition Handbook and the 2019 Freestyle Test sheets, it states that, “Trot work may be done sitting or rising”. This is correct for Training and First but not for Second, Third and Fourth, where all trot work is to be ridden sitting.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and will correct the affected Freestyle tests online as soon as possible. The correction in the Competition Handbook cannot be corrected until 2020, so we ask that you make a note of this correction in the 2019 Competition Handbook.

Additionally for Freestyles, the Equestrian Canada Dressage Committee has authorized  extraordinary rule amendments to make the following adjustments to Section E: Dressage and Para-Dressage Rules. Please make a note of them:

E. 7.29      Added to the Reference Chart for Freestyles Offered at Silver Championships:

E.9.3.16     Correction to the amount of time for an athlete to enter the arena
E.9.5          after the start of their music is adjusted from 20 to 30 seconds.

E 10.4        Freestyle scoring has been adjusted to: “Half and full points are used for Technical Execution. Half, full and one-tenth marks may be used for Artistic Impression.”
