Important Notice: Amendment To EC Rules

Please be advised that the following sections of the Equestrian Canada (EC) Rules have been amended through the Extraordinary Rule Amendment (ERA) process, effective immediately:

• Section E: Dressage and Para-Dressage
• Section G: Hunter, Jumper, Equitation and Hack

Noteworthy updates and changes are outlined below.

SECTION E: DRESSAGE AND PARA-DRESSAGE

Under Article E. 3.0, EC Progressive Competition and Sport Licence System Chart for Competition Levels, the list of permitted classes for Bronze and Silver competitions has been amended to align with Chapter 13, FEI Young Horse Classes.

Under Article E 13.2, Competition Sanctioning Level (for FEI Young Horse Classes), the age categories for EC Gold sanctioned competitions have been amended to include 4, 5, 6 and 7 year olds in addition to 8-10 year old categories.

SECTION G: HUNTER, JUMPER, EQUITATION AND HACK

Under Article G315, Hunter Derby, references to division points and specifications have been removed as Hunter Derbies are stand-alone classes which do not count toward divisional National Rankings.

Under FEI Article 241, Elimination, an amendment has been made which gives the Ground Jury the clear authority to take action where there are serious horse welfare concerns during a round.
