Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe Win The Doubles Crown at the Cincinnati Open

[MONTRÉAL, QC] August 17, 2025 – Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and her doubles partner Erin Routliffe captured the WTA 1000 title at the Cincinnati Open with a straight-set win over Hanyu Guo and Alexandra Panova (6-4, 6-3).

The triumph marks Dabrowski and Routliffe’s second—and most significant—gain of the season following a standout campaign in 2024 that included the WTA Finals. They now hold a total of six joint titles.

En route to the final in Cincinnati, the pair showed outstanding resilience, closing out two of their matches in a super tiebreaker. They rallied from behind against Aldila Sutjiadi of Indonesia and Giuliana Olmos of Mexico (3-6, 7-6(2), 10-7) and then again versus the sixth seeds Ellen Perez of Australia and Lyudmyla Kichenok of Ukraine (3-6, 6-3, 12-10).

Facing Guo and Panova for the very first time, Dabrowski and Routliffe took control by dictating the rhythm and leaning into their experience. They broke their opponents four times, were broken only once, and hit five aces (one ace for Guo and Panova).

Guo (27) and Panova (36) appeared in their first WTA 1000 final. Since teaming up in January 2025, they’ve reached career-high rankings of No. 28 and No. 26, respectively, and won two WTA 500 titles this season. Their remarkable run in Cincinnati includes two three-set wins and an impressive semifinal upset against the top seeds and reigning Roland-Garros and Olympic champions Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini.

After winning in Stuttgart, Zhengzhou and Flushing Meadows in 2023 and then in Nottingham and at the WTA Finals in 2024, Dabrowski and Routliffe now add their first WTA 1000 title to their trophy cases. The Cincinnati Open is Dabrowski’s third career WTA 1000 title after she won in Montréal in 2021 and Madrid in 2022.

“I feel very fortunate to have been able to compete this week,” said Dabrowski during the trophy presentation. “Erin, thanks for sticking by my side. I know it’s not been an easy ride, but this trophy means a lot to share it with you. And thank you for being so supportive as a partner and as a friend.”

“It’s been an amazing two weeks,” added Routliffe. “Thank you so much to everybody watching back home, family, friends, everybody. Gaby, we’ve had a rough year a little bit, I think, and, you know, we’ve stuck together, and I think this title means a lot to both of us.”
