FINA Diving Grand Prix #3 and #4

Diving Plongeon Canada – Events will be held in Madrid (ESP) June 7-9 and in Bolzano (ITA) June 14-16
 

Ottawa, June 6th, 2019 – Diving Plongeon Canada is pleased to announce the divers named to the Canadian team that will compete in the third and fourth legs of the 2019 FINA Diving Grand Prix circuit.

Gilles Empotz-Lacote (Toronto, ON), Stéphane Lapointe (Laval, QC) and Alex Povzner (Vaughan, ON) have been named to the Canadian coaching staff for Madrid, while Lapointe and Tommy McLeod (Victoria, BC) will be Canada’s coaches in Bolzano. Claire Marentette (Saskatoon, SK) has been appointed as the Canadian official who will be judging at both events.
 
So far this season, Canada has won eleven Grand Prix medals, including six golds, four silvers and one bronze. Results will be available on www.fina.org and through the FINA app.
 
About the FINA Diving Grand Prix 

Each year, the FINA Diving Grand Prix invites top divers from around the world to compete for medals and world ranking points in a circuit of four-day meets. The intent is to provide the international diving elite with a high-level competition that takes place in countries or locations that have a strong tradition in the sport. The Grand Prix competition program includes women’s and men’s 3m springboard, 10m platform, 3m springboard synchro and 10m platform synchro.

In 2019, hosts cities include Rostock (GER), Calgary (CAN), Mission Viejo (USA), Madrid (ESP), Bolzano (ITA), Cairo (EGY), Gold Coast (AUS), Kuala Lumpur (MAS) and Singapore. For more details about the competition, please visit www.fina.org.
