In Her Corner: Girl-Centered Training for Coaches and Sport Leaders
Canadian Women & Sport is partnering with Nike to invite 80 coaches and sport leaders within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to join our latest virtual training program. In Her Corner will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to better engage with girls and gender-diverse youth. The goal: keep them in sport!
This six-week virtual training program runs from November 1 to December 7, 2023.
Participants will be divided into four (4) groups and each group will be led by two Canadian Women & Sport expert facilitators. Through a combination of presentation, interactive activities and at-home coursework, leaders will learn:
- How to apply an intersectional gender equity lens to daily decisions.
- The benefits of sport participation for girls and gender-diverse youth.
- How to understand barriers from an intersectional and ecological perspective.
- About the optimal girl-centered experiences.
- How to apply key elements of girl-centered design to deliver programs.

The Same Game Challenge Next Start: January 2024
Canadian Women & Sport is partnering with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities to deliver The Same Game Challenge Cohort 4 that will begin in January 2024.
This program is for sport leaders, who are inspired to reimagine how women, girls and gender-diverse people access their sport but have been frustrated in their ability to make efficient and effective change.
Sport leaders from participating organizations will be provided with a step-by-step process that guides them on how to connect with their members to identify gender inequities. They will also develop skills they need to create sustainable change that closes the gender inequity gaps within their organizations and communities.
