Everest Returns as Title Sponsor of Canadian Senior Curling Championships

Curling Canada – One of Canada’s most popular curling championships will continue its relationship with a longtime partner, it was announced today by Curling Canada.

Everest Funeral Concierge will be the the title sponsor of the Canadian Senior Curling Championships for the sixth consecutive year.

The 2020 Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championships are scheduled for March 16-22 at the Portage Curling Club in Portage la Prairie, Man.

“Everest’s commitment to the Canadian Senior Curling Championships is not only a reflection of the popularity of our sport, but also an example of partnership at its very best,” said Katherine Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada. “I know this is an event that athletes anticipate eagerly every season, and the enthusiastic support of Everest is a big reason why.”

Everest started its title sponsorship of the Canadian Seniors in 2015 at Edmonton.

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring the Canadian Seniors for the sixth consecutive year,” said Everest CEO Mark Duffey. “It’s an exciting time for seniors curling and Everest wants to be more than a sponsor of the championships; we want to be a partner in growing seniors curling in Canada. So, we are honoured to work together with Curling Canada and Hall-of-Famer Randy Ferbey to promote the sport through the Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championships. What better way to continue this tradition than in one of the most impressive curling facilities in the country.”

Earlier this year, at the 2019 Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championships in Chilliwack, B.C., Saskatchewan teams skipped by Bruce Korte and Sherry Anderson swept the men’s and women’s titles respectively. Anderson’s team has won the Canadian Seniors title for three consecutive years and then went on to win its second consecutive World Senior Women’s Championship in Stavanger, Norway, this past April. Team Korte and Team Anderson will represent Canada at the 2020 World Senior Curling Championships April 18-25 in Kelowna, B.C.
