Emily Overholt

Swimming Canada – Hello, we wanted to draw your attention to an important story we put out today on our website and social media channels. Olympic medallist Emily Overholt, who recently received the Harry Jerome Award as Sport BC Comeback Athlete of the Year, shared the incredible story of her battle with depression over the past few years. Emily has demonstrated great strength and passion throughout this process and she deserves immense credit for her recovery. We were honoured to be able to tell Emily’s story in a longform feature HERE: https://www.swimming.ca/en/news/2019/03/25/overholts-smile-has-returned-after-swimming-through-struggle/ and short video documentary HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paNr9DL6xVo

Emily hopes that sharing her story will help others struggling with their mental health. She will be available for interview requests on April 8 and 9, following the completion of Canadian Swimming Trials (April 3-7 in Toronto).
