Congratulations to the 2022 Horse Day Contest Winners!

Ottawa, ON, June 29, 2022  On June 4, 2022, Equestrian Canada (EC) celebrated the 14th annual National Horse Day and we are pleased to announce the winners who participated in the National Drawing Contest.

The contest was offered as a fun and engaging way for Canadians to get involved in Horse Day 2022, encouraging our members to fill our social media feeds with favourite horse photos on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using hashtags #CanadaHorses #horselove #horseday, raising awareness about the beloved horse.

2022 Horse Day Kids Drawing Contest Winners

The Horse Day Drawing Contest provided kids aged 3 to 16 with the opportunity to compete for prizes in four different age categories.

Fantastic entries were sent in across the four age categories (3 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 to 16), making the judging no easy task.

The contest guidelines required entrants to draw their art by hand and include at least one horse in the submission. The works of art were then judged based on the criteria of beauty, arrangement of colours, originality, and implied effort by the contestant.

The age category winners of the Horse Day Drawing Contest are as follows:

Category: 3 to 6
Zoe King, ON

Category: 7 to 9
Ava Goodfellow, ON

Category: 10 to 12
Alyssa Stribopolous, ON

Category: 13 to 16
milie Pascal, QC

Congratulations to the winners, and a huge thank you to all contestants for submitting entries and getting involved in Horse Day 2022! Winners between the ages of 3 to 16 took home a gift card valued at $50.

About Horse Day
Each year, the first Saturday of June is marked as Canadas National Horse Day. Together, Equestrian Canada and provincial/territorial equestrian organizations invite all Canadians to take this opportunity to honour, discover, and explore the equestrian world. Horse Day is also a great chance to recognize the contributions made by horses in our nation’s heritage and how they continue to be loved and enjoyed today and everyday.
