OTTAWA, ON – Archery Canada is excited to announce the three (3) archers that will be representing Canada at the World Archery Championships in Berlin, Germany, starting at the end of July. Athletes competing to be selected for the team were required to submit their intent and were then required to submit eligible scores.
The athletes selected to the compound team are:
- Cameron Palichuk (AB)
- Tristan Moran (SK)
- Andrew Fagan (ON)
The staff accompanying the team is as follows:
- Duncan Crawford, Coach
Andrew Fagan most recently competed at the 2021 World Archery Championships in Yankton, South Dakota. He has competed in two other iterations of this event, making Berlin his fourth appearance at the World Championship level. This will be Cameron Palichuk’s third international appearance for Team Canada. He previously appeared on home soil at the 2022 Youth and Masters Pan Am Championships, where he was the 6th-ranked U21 compound archer. Palichuk also finished 17th at the Pan Am Championships in Santiago in November of last year and will look to perform well in Berlin. Tristan Moran will be attending his first Senior World Championships in Berlin, but he has a wealth of experience behind him. He attended the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships, where he won a silver medal in the team round.
While Archery Canada was originally hoping to send a women’s team, neither of the women on the 2023 National Squad submitted their intent.
For compound archers, this event serves as the highest-level of competition and so the organization looks forward to seeing how the athletes perform on the world stage.
