OTTAWA, ON (March 11, 2025) – Canadian Women’s Artistic Senior and Junior gymnasts delivered outstanding performances and earned multiple podium finishes during International Gymnix held in Montreal, QC from March 5th to March 9th 2025.
Senior Cup Results
The Canadian Senior Women’s Artistic teams shined on the international stage in the Senior Cup Team All Around, claiming podium finishes at the 31st L’International Gymnix in Montreal, QC held at Stade de Soccer de Montreal.
Canada 1 team members Lia Monica Fontaine, Alyssa Guerrier-Calixte, Gabrielle Black, and Lia Redick earned a combined score of 157.700, securing the top spot on the podium in the Senior Cup.
Team Japan followed claiming the silver medal with a combined score of 152.800.
Canada 2 secured a spot on the podium with a bronze medal in the Senior Cup with a combined score of 148.850 by team members Evandra Zlobec, Victorianne Charron, Zoe Cadrin, and Amy Jorgenson.
The senior athletes continued to be powerhouses in the apparatus finals bringing home multiple podium finishes:
Vault – Lia Monica Fontaine won the gold with a score of 14.150. Gabrielle Black followed with the silver medal, with a score of 13.517.
Uneven Bars – Zoe Cadrin earned the bronze medal with a score of 12.966.
Beam – Alyssa Guerrier-Calixte secured the silver medal with a final score of 13.533.
Floor – Lia Monica Fontaine earned her second gold medal with a score of 13.500. Alyssa Guerrier-
Calixte followed close behind, earning her second silver medal with a score of 13.133.
Junior Cup Results
Team France claimed the top spot on the podium with a combined score of 156.450. Following not far behind France was the United States earning the silver medal with a combined total of 153.300.
Aila McKinley, Coralie Demers, Samantha Couture, and Taya Macey represented Team Canada in the Junior Cup at L’International Gymnix. The Canadian Junior team collected the bronze medal in the team all-around in Montreal, QC with a combined score of 146.750.
Individual Athletes Maryam Saber and Emily Kim finished the all-around in 11th and 21st.
Maryam Saber qualified and competed in the Junior individual floor final for a 5th place finish.
Emily Kim also qualified and competed in the Junior individual beam final, where she finished in 8th place.
