Coaching Association of Canada announces recipients of the 2025-2026 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Grant Program, powered by MONDO

OTTAWA, ON, Aug 22, 2025 – The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025-2026 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Grant Program, powered by MONDO.

The CAC is dedicated to providing opportunities for coaches in the CAC’s Priority Groups, which include women, visible minorities, persons with disabilities, Indigenous Peoples, and people who identify with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The CAC EDI Grant Program, powered by MONDO, provides funding to sport organizations to support programs that increase the diversity of the coaching population in Canada and create inclusive and accessible sport environments.

In 2019, the CAC conducted a study on coaching diversity and inclusion initiatives led by National Sport Organizations (NSOs). The goal of this research was to identify how the CAC could best support its NSO partners in achieving our collective goals for equity in coaching. As a result of the findings, the CAC implemented the NSO EDI Grant Program to increase support and resources available for program development and implementation.

In 2024, the CAC increased the financial support available to EDI Grant Program recipients thanks to a new partnership with MONDO, an internationally renowned retailer with over 70 years in sports flooring. Eligibility for the EDI Grant Program was also expanded to include Provincial/Territorial Coaching Representatives (PTCRs), the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN), and Provincial/Territorial Sport Organizations (PTSOs).

The CAC is pleased to announce the 2025-2026 recipients that will each receive $1,500 in funding to support their program:

  • Biathlon Alberta; Northern Women’s Coaching Initiative
  • Broomball Canada; Newfoundland & Labrador’s First Learning Facilitator and First Coach Development Workshop
