As part of her Canadian tour, Olympic judo champion Christa Deguchi will make a stop in Montréal on November 14 and 15 to impart her passion for the sport to young judokas.
Deguchi, the gold medallist in the under-57 kg category at the Paris Olympic Games this past summer, kicked off her coast-to-coast tour in British Columbia on November 5. The cross-country trek will bring her all the way to Dieppe, New Brunswick.
In Montréal, Deguchi will take part in a training camp for U12, U14, and first-year U16 athletes holding yellow belts or higher. It will take place on November 15 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau.
The event is totally free of charge, and Judo Canada cordially invites members of the media to attend, in order to meet our Olympic champion.
Judo Canada would also like to thank its partners the Government of Canada, Ford Canada, and Ford Québec, who, by making this project possible, will allow a whole new generation to develop a love for judo.
Deguchi will also attend Judo Canada’s High Performance Gala on November 16, where the Canadian judokas who took part in the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games will be honoured.
