Change in Location and Date for the 2025 Rhythmic Gymnastics Canadian Championships

OTTAWA, ON (March 12, 2025) – Gymnastics Canada, in consultation with and with the support of the provincial governing bodies responsible for Rhythmic Gymnastics in Canada, has made the decision to relocate the 2025 Rhythmic Canadian Championships to Ontario and reschedule the event for early June. The championships will now take place from June 5th to 9th in Ottawa, Ontario, hosted by Gymnastics Ontario and local member clubs.

This decision ensures that Canadian athletes have the opportunity to compete in both the Canadian Championships and the Pan American Championships, which are scheduled for the same weekend in late May. By making this adjustment, Gymnastics Canada is prioritizing the best interests of athletes, coaches and judges, ensuring that our top rhythmic gymnasts can participate in both key competitions.

While we recognize that this change presents challenges, we want to acknowledge the efforts of Rhythmic Gymnastics Alberta and Gymnastics Alberta, who had been preparing to host the event in Calgary. This decision was in no way a reflection of their readiness or commitment, and we deeply appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm they brought to the planning process.

We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this may cause to the Rhythmic Gymnastics community in Alberta. We remain committed to working with our provincial partners to bring future events to Alberta and thank everyone involved for their continued support and dedication to the sport.
