CCPSA Appoints Martin Richard as Next Chief Executive Officer

Ottawa, Canada (October 30, 2025)—The Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association (CCPSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Richard as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 3, 2025. We are deeply grateful for the leadership of Jennifer Larson as Interim Executive Director during the CEO search.

Martin is a respected national sport executive with more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in Canadian sport and nonprofit sectors, including a proven record of leading cultural renewal, strengthening stakeholder trust, and empowering people through sport.

“We are thrilled to welcome Martin to CCPSA,” said Alana Aird, President of CCPSA. “His passion for para sport, combined with proven executive leadership and deep commitment to athletes and member organizations, positions CCPSA for a strong and prosperous future.”

In addition to his executive roles, Martin brings valuable governance experience as a Board Member Parasport organisation, helping shape athlete pathways and strengthening sport development at international, national and provincial levels.

“I am honoured to join CCPSA and humbled by the trust placed in me,” said Martin Richard. “Together with athletes, staff, provincial partners, and funders, I look forward to building on Canada’s world-class boccia legacy and expanding opportunities for people with cerebral palsy to participate and excel in sport.”
Richard’s arrival comes as CCPSA prepares for one of its key annual events: the Canadian Boccia Championships in Ottawa this November, where Canada’s top athletes will compete and continue their path toward international success.
