Canadian Women’s Team set for Tokyo Qualification Tournament

January 08, 2020: Canada’s women’s team heads to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, today to compete at the NORCECA Women’s Tokyo Qualification Tournament. One ticket to the 2020 Olympic Games will be up for grabs in the event that features teams representing Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, and the host Dominican Republic (also the highest ranked team in the group, at 10th in the world).
 
The Canadian team has been training in Athens, Georgia, which is also the base of Canada’s head coach Tom Black during the University of Georgia volleyball season.
 
Up first for Canada is Puerto Rico on Jan. 10, followed by Dominican Republic on the 11th and then Mexico to complete the tournament on Sunday.
