Canadian Short Track Team Holds Media Availability Ahead of Canadian Championships

Speed Skating Canada – Media Invited to Interview Skaters Who Will Compete at 2019 Canadian Short Track Championships in Montreal from September 20-22

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Speed Skating Canada invites members of the media to speak with the athletes that will compete at the upcoming 2019 Canadian Short Track Championships in Montreal. The skaters will be available for interviews on Tuesday, September 17 from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM. Media wishing to record footage of practice races can do so from 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM for the women’s team and from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM for the men’s team.

The Canadian Short Track Championships features the country’s top 24 skaters per gender (based on last season’s Canadian rankings and NextGen rankings) and is used to crown a national champion in each individual distance and an overall champion. The results from this event help determine which athletes qualify for the Racing Pool, from which Canada’s team for the ISU World Cups and World Championships is selected.
