Canada’s U19 women wrap up at Worlds

August 10, 2023: Canada completed competition at the Girls’ U19 World Championship, taking place in Croatia and Hungary, with a win today.

Canada won 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-21) over Peru in the match that lands the team in 19th place overall.

Canada went 0-5 through the preliminary phase against Brazil, Italy, Bulgaria, Peru, and Thailand. In the finals, the team beat Chile (3-1), then fell to Mexico in straight sets, followed by today’s 3-0 win in Osijek, Croatia.

Twenty-four teams entered this age-group World Championship that began on Aug. 01; with the medal matches to be held on Friday, Aug. 11.
