Canada’s U-15 Women’s National Team Falls Short to Czechia in Game One

Milan, Italy – The Quick Story:

In a tightly contested opener, Canada’s U-15 Women’s National Team came up just short, falling 3–2 to Czechia. Leah Rayson led the way offensively driving in one of Canada’s two runs.

Key Moment:

While both teams put together steady efforts, Rayson’s bat was the standout for Canada. Hitting in the cleanup spot, she reached base in all three of her at-bats, collecting a single, double, and triple, and recording an RBI.

  • Rayson opened the scoring with a single up the middle in the first inning, bringing home Robyn McIsaac.
  • Czechia responded in the bottom of the second, tying the game with a triple and a groundout to score one run.
  • Coco Chapman sparked Canada in the third with a triple down the right field line, then scored on a sacrifice fly to center by McIsaac.
  • Czechia took the lead in the fifth, capitalizing on a Canadian error to score two runs.
