RICHMOND – Dodgeball Canada (DC), in partnership with Dodgeball British Columbia, will host the 2024 National Dodgeball Championship that brings together qualifying men’s and women’s teams from across the country to compete for the title as Canada’s top ranked dodgeball club.

This is the seventh National Championship event in DC’s history, with previous events taking place in Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, Charlottetown, Edmonton, and Montréal. With over 50 teams competing, the 2024 event will be the largest to date.

“Dodgeball Canada is thrilled to welcome the seventh National Championship to Richmond, BC. Dodgeball skills and talent continues to develop from coast-to-coast and this event will bring together the best Canadian players and teams as they compete for a National title. We look forward to welcoming players and all supporters as we host, alongside Dodgeball BC, the largest National Championship in our history,” said Cameron Booth, President of Dodgeball Canada.

Dodgeball BC President Truong Cao shared, “We’re extremely proud to have won the bid to host this year’s National event. BC has seen tremendous growth in the dodgeball space, doubling our athlete numbers since 2019.  Our hope is that this event will pique the interest of future dodgeballers – all are welcome!”

The three day event will take place from June 29th to July 1st at the Richmond Olympic Oval. It’s a free, non-ticketed event, and if you’ve ever wanted to watch dodgeball played at the country’s highest level, this is the place. Several teams competing at the event include players on the Canadian National Team who’ll be competing at the World Dodgeball Championships in Graz, Austria this August.

As part of the event, Dodgeball Canada will be revealing the 2024 Team Canada jersey that National athletes will be wearing at the World Championships on Monday, July 1. Medal matches will take place on Monday, July 1st. Merch, food, and drink will be sold on site.
