Canada’s junior team cruises to a win over Colombia; plays host Peru today

Volleyball Canada – May 7, 2019 – The second day of action at the IV U21 Men’s Volleyball Pan American Cup, began with a comfortable victory for Canada over Colombia, 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-14) at the Manuel Bonilla Coliseum in Miraflores, Lima, Peru, on Monday.

The Canadians recorded their second consecutive victory in Pool B with an advantage in attacking (32-19) and aces (15-6). Canada scored through 23 unforced errors by the South Americans, while keeping its own errors to 16.

Xander Ketrzynski, top scorer for Canada with 14 points, said: “We are happy with this second victory; it was a great team effort.” 

Canada, with two wins and no losses, will close the group stage against Peru at 8 pm local time (9 pm ET) today. Cuba is undefeated in Pool A, and plays the U.S. today at 6 pm local.
