A 30th-anniversary celebration for Canada’s best-known barbecue restaurant and partner of Curling Canada will see Montana’s BBQ & Bar named the title sponsor of the Canadian Curling Trials, it was announced today.
The 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials are scheduled for Nov. 22-30 at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, and will decide Canada’s four-player curling teams for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina, Italy.
But that’s just one aspect of an expanded partnership with Curling Canada that will feature 30 weeks of prize give-aways through the Ribs to Riches contest leading up to the Montana’s Trials, culminating with one lucky winner selected for the opportunity to draw to the button for $1 million on the closing weekend in Halifax.
As part of the Ribs to Riches promotion, Montana’s is also inviting Canadians to join in on ongoing efforts to support the future of curling, by making a donation through a targeted campaign to get more kids in the game! Anchored in the belief that the power of sport brings communities together, Montana’s and Curling Canada’s For the Love of Curling program will turn generous support into opportunities for youth across Canada to share, grow and play, through meaningful curling experiences.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to build on this relationship with Montana’s BBQ & Bar and expand it with their sponsorship of the Trials,” said Nolan Thiessen, Chief Executive Officer of Curling Canada. “We have shared ambitions of continuing to build our sport and events. It’s truly appreciated that Montana’s is showing its support not only of our high-profile championships, but also in helping to build our next generation of Canadian curlers.”
As part of today’s launch of the Trials sponsorship, there will be give-aways throughout the 2025 Montana’s Brier, presented by AGI, which is kicking off today in Kelowna, B.C., including trips to the 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials in Halifax.
Among the prizes up for grabs during Ribs to Riches (enter at ribstoriches.ca) are Weber barbecues, Traeger smoker/grills, All You Can Eat Ribs for a year and inflatable hot tubs.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 30 years of being Canada’s home of barbecue than to support Canada’s game through sponsoring the Canadian Curling Trials,” said Yianni Fountas, Vice-President of Marketing for Montana’s BBQ & Bar. “It’s going to be an exciting year of prizes and anticipation leading up to the million-dollar draw-to-the-button in Halifax, and it’s a great opportunity to continue and build on our partnership with Curling Canada.”
Montana’s BBQ & Bar began its partnership with Curling Canada in 2023 by becoming the title sponsor of the Brier, Canada’s national men’s curling championship, beginning with the 2024 Montana’s Brier in Regina.
