Montréal, July 7th, 2025 – The Canadian divers in action at the Bolzano Diving Meeting had an outstanding weekend. Following their bronze medal triumphs on Saturday and Sunday, they ended the season on a high note with a silver medal in the mixed team competition.
With a cumulative score of 345.10 points, the Canadian quartet composed of Éloise Bélanger (CAMO), Julianne Boisvert (L’Envol), Cédric Fofana (CAMO) and Luc Goertzen (Calgary) climbed on the second step of the podium behind the Americans, who came out on top with a total of 364.85 points. The neutral athletes finished third with 342.55 points.
“Bolzano is a tremendous competition. It takes place outside in northern Italy, with mountains all around, so we’re thrilled to end the season here!” exclaimed Bélanger.
Less than 24 hours earlier, Bélanger and Boisvert had also combined forces in the women’s synchronized 10m platform event, winning bronze with a total of 252.72 points.
“The season is coming to an end and we all wanted to apply everything we’ve worked on during the year to perform the best we could,” explained Bélanger.
The Quebec native also made her mark in the individual event on Friday. After finishing tenth in the preliminaries, she rebounded well in the final and jumped six places to claim bronze with 271.50 points. Meanwhile, Julianne Boisvert was unable to qualify for the final after finishing 11th in the prelims.
“I’m slightly disappointed with my performance. I landed some good dives and can be proud of myself, but there are plenty of things I’m going to build on for next season,” shared Bélanger.
Kash Tarasoff (CDI – Saskatoon) was the other Canadian medalist in Bolzano. The Saskatchewan native won bronze in the men’s individual 10m platform competition with a cumulative score of 390.05 points.
He was only beaten by American Max Weinrich (436.00 points) and neutral athlete Sandro Ragava (428.50 points). For his part, Luc Goertzen finished 5th in the final with 339.20 points.
Finally, Quebecers Cédric Fofana and Samuel McCaffrey, 19th and 20th respectively in the preliminaries, failed to reach the men’s 3m springboard final.
