La Pampa, Argentina – The Quick Story:
Despite a hard-fought push in the final innings, Team Canada fell 5–4 to the Dominican Republic at the 2025 WBSC Americas U23 Men’s Pan American Championship. Canada scored once in the sixth and added three more in the seventh but fell just one run shy of completing the comeback. Fueled by a strong finish, the Canadians are determined to bounce back in tomorrow’s matchup against the United States.
Key Moment:
Trailing 5–0 after five innings, Canada found a spark that ignited their offense. Nick White got things started in the sixth inning with a perfectly executed bunt. Connor Brooks then followed with a single to left field that sent Nick White home, putting Canada on the board. In the seventh, the Canadians kept up their offensive pressure. With a single, Matt Weiler drove in a run, and Nick White’s double brought in two more, closing the score to 5–4. But despite their push late in the game, Canada couldn’t complete the comeback.
Notes:
- Nick White led the offense, going 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and crossing the plate once.
- Matt Weiler went 1-for-1 with an RBI single.
- Connor Brooks went 1-for-3 with a two-run single.

- Dale Schweyer took the start in the circle, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 5.
- Brody Fraser pitched 3.2 innings in relief, giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 6 strikeouts.
