Cam Alexander sends it in Kvitfjell

Calgary, AB (March 7, 2020) – Cam Alexander (North Vancouver, BC) just put another personal best up on the board. In the downhill from Kvitfjell, NOR Alexander punched his way into the top ten for the first time ever finishing just 1.19 seconds back of the leader.

For Alexander, who had finished in a career best 19th in Wengen, SUI in January this race was a breakthrough in a tough field.

“I just tried to go today. I felt like I was on the limit for most of the way down and in speed when you feel like you’re on the limit that usually means you’re going pretty fast and that’s what it ended up being. I’m super happy with where I ended up today,” said Alexander.

Alexander led all Canadians in the race. Ben Thomsen (Invermere, BC), celebrating 10 years on the World Cup tour, finished in 31st. Jeff Read (Canmore, AB) finished in 38th, Jack Crawford (Toronto, ON) finished in 39th and Brodie Seger (North Vancouver, BC) finished in 49th.

This is the last downhill of the season as the Word Cup Finals scheduled for Cortina, ITA have been cancelled due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus in the area.

The men will be back at it tomorrow for the super G which will see Dustin Cook (Ottawa, ON) finish out a storied career with one last race.
