Quebec City, March 12, 2019– The Jamboree, which has become an unmissable winter happening in Quebec City, hosts the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup from March 14 to 16 in the downtown portion of the city’s historic quarter. Skiers will take flight from a structure 39 metres high by 91 long in their bid to claim the honours at the last Big Air event of the 2018-19 season.
The Canadian contingent will consist of 12 skiers, including local star Alex Beaulieu-Marchand, who’s had a dream season so far, winning two silver medals at the Aspen X Games and a bronze in ski Big Air at the World Championships in Park City. Known for his original manoeuvres, Beaulieu-Marchand will certainly want to impress his supporters. The other Quebecer to watch for will be Philippe Langevin. The Mont-Tremblant native was propelled onto the international scene this season thanks to his excellent World Cup results, which earned him an invitation to the X Games and his qualification for the World Championships.
On the women’s side, young Megan Oldham earned her second World Cup podium of the season with a third-place finish in Mammoth this past weekend.
