Nov. 04, 2024: Canadian teams picked up three medals this past weekend at theĀ 2024 NORCECA Beach Tour eventĀ on the Caribbean island of Bonaire.
Jake MacNeil and Arran Chambers bring home silver after a three-set final loss to Jake Urrutia and Wyatt Harrison of the United States 2-1 (21-13, 16-21, 15-10).
MacNeil/Chambers reached the gold medal match after beating fellow Canadians Martin Licht and Luke de Greeff 2-1 (21-18, 19-21, 15-9). Licht/de GreeffĀ went on to win their first NORCECA beach medal defeating USAās Charles Siragusa and John Schwengel 2-1 (21-19, 16-21, 18-16) in the bronze medal match.
In the womenās tournament, Carly Kan and Devanne Sours of the United States won gold at this seventh stage of the NORCECA tour, defeating Canadaās Dana Roskic and Anna Licht 2-0 (21-18, 21-15). This is the team of Roskic/Lichtās first international medal.
The podium was also a family affair for Canada ā Martin and Anna Licht (Toronto, ON) are siblings.
NORCECAās beach tour continues next week in El Salvador.
