Beach teams nominated for World Championships after NORCECA trials

Volleyball Canada – April 05, 2019, Toronto, ON: Volleyball Canada will nominate the following two teams as the NORCECA berths for the 2019 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg, Germany (June 28 to July 7):
 
Men:
Ben Saxton (Calgary, AB) & Grant O’Gorman (Toronto, ON)
 
Women:
Megan McNamara & Nicole McNamara (Vancouver, BC)
 
These berths, based on trials concluded today at the National Beach Volleyball Centre at Downsview Park, are in addition to those already gained through the FIVB World Rankings.
 
Canadian NORCECA trials rankings:
 
Men
1. Saxton/O’Gorman
2. Pedlow/ Schachter
3. Hoey/MacNeil
 
Women
1. McNamara/McNamara
2. Pischke/Bukovec
 
Note: Teams can also qualify through the top 23 of FIVB World Rankings (Canada has two women’s teams already qualified – Wilkerson/Bansley and Pavan/Humana-Paredes, and the potential of Pedlow/ Schachter, depending on their ranking by early May).
