https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=450RzY7IhlThe NCCP Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD) is the most extensive multisport training program offered by the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in Canada. ACD coaches are recognized as being among the most qualified coaches and leaders of Canadian athletes and sport programs competing provincially, nationally, and internationally. This unique, multi-sport program is essential for Canadian coaches seeking the next step in their coaching careers. Despite the closures from COVID-19, the ACD program has brought coaches together virtually from coast to coast, to coast. With online classes, and the ability to attend from any location in the country, coaches have opted to take this time to invest in themselves.
Wendy Dobbin, Lead, Coach Development at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario knows the value that the flexible program has for coaches. The COVID-19 pandemic has allowed coaches the time to focus on their own development. Wherever the coach is located they have been able to continue their development and engage in learning activities either live or through recorded content. The enhancements to the flexible blended learning environment which connects the content to the learning activities has made it even easier for coaches across the country to engage in quality learning opportunities.”
The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network deliver the program, which draws on the expertise of leading sport scientists and academics, sport industry leaders, as well as expert NCCP coaches and mentors. Weve been working hard to ensure that the mentorship and relationship building components remain a strength of the program, even if done virtually, shares Wendy. “The programs flexible structure allows it to be accessed through live online delivery, as well as through recorded content.”
The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) is committed to supporting coaches who are working to achieve a standard of excellence in their profession.
