Anastasia Tikhonova Crowned Champion at the Saguenay National Bank Open Challenger

[MONTRÉAL, QC] October 26, 2025 – On Sunday, Anastasia Tikhonova won her first singles title of the season at the 19th edition of the Saguenay National Bank Challenger. In the final, the 24-year-old overpowered Viktoria Hruncakova of Slovakia 6-3, 6-2 to secure her sixth professional title and the second-most prestigious of her career (ITF W100 in Dubai).

In doubles, Canada’s Ariana Arseneault (Ontario) and Raphaëlle Lacasse (Québec), the fourth seeds, defeated the first seeds Jasmijn Gimbrere (Netherlands) and Anna Rogers (USA) in the final (5-7, 6-3, 10-5).

“It’s always special to win a title here in Canada, especially in front of such welcoming fans,” said Arseneault. It was our first time playing together on tour, and we really found great chemistry and fought hard in every match.”

“We’re really proud of what we accomplished this week,” added Lacasse. “We had so much fun and supported each other in every match. Winning here in Canada for the second week in a row makes it even more special for me.”

A former junior Australian Open semifinalist, Tikhonova rediscovered the form that carried her to a career-high ranking of No.151 in early 2024. Now ranked No.327, she didn’t lose a set in Saguenay, conceding no more than three games per match going into the final and only five in the last showdown.

Her opponent, 27-year-old Hruncakova, had a more challenging road to the final. She went the distance in two of her matches including her win over Canadian Avery Alexander in the first round. Despite competing in five finals in 2025—Saguenay being the most prestigious—the current No.226 and former world No.43 (2019) was still in search of her first title this season.

In doubles, Arseneault and Lacasse joined forced for the first time on the pro tour. On their way to the title, they dropped only one set and ousted the second seeded team of Jessica Failla (USA) and Jenny Duerst (Switzerland) in two sets in the semis (7-6(4), 7-5).

Arseneault, who already won a doubles title earlier this season (ITF W35), reached a career-high ranking of No.111 this summer. Lacasse, who arrived in Saguenay fresh off a win in Québec (ITF W35) with fellow Canadian Alexandra Vagramov, secured her second doubles title of 2025 after winning the ITF W15 in Montréal. Before today, she’d got as far as two finals and a semi in her three previous doubles draws.

Both players will be looking to carry their momentum forward into next week as they team up again at the ITF W75 Tevlin Challenger in Toronto.
