L’Île-Bizard, July 10, 2025 – Under summery skies and in a most inspiring atmosphere, the much-anticipated Hadassah-WIZO Children’s Pro-Am took place today at the prestigious Elm Ridge Golf Club, mobilizing both the North and South courses to welcome as many participants as possible.
Bringing together passionate amateur golfers, PGA of Québec professionals and partners dedicated to the cause, the event put sport at the service of a greater mission: specializing in cutting-edge treatment for children and families who are victims of sexual violence, through the Hadassah-WIZO Canada organization.
An exemplary mobilization
With over 40 teams made up of one golf professional and three amateurs, the Pro-Am took place simultaneously on both Elm Ridge Club courses, ensuring a fluid and dynamic playing experience throughout this renowned venue.
The friendly yet competitive format enabled amateurs to experience a memorable day alongside top golfers, while taking part in a meaningful fundraising event. A welcome brunch, refined refreshment stations on the course and a gourmet dinner rounded off this festive and unifying day.
Champions
For their part, members of the PGA of Québec had the opportunity to qualify for the Canada Cup, to be held August 14-17, 2025, at the Victoriaville Golf Club. Among the ten players who earned a place at the Canada Cup, two stood out today. Anthony Godbout, professional at Club de golf Longchamp, put in a superb performance with a score of 66 (-6) on the North course, earning him the honors in the professional section. On the South Course, his colleague Brendan Smith, also from Club de Golf Longchamp, took the lead with a score of 69 (-3).
These performances testify not only to the high calibre of the professionals present, but also to the exceptional quality of the Elm Ridge Golf Club courses, which offered a stimulating and demanding setting worthy of the participants’ talent.
A concrete impact
The event, organized with professionalism and heart by the Hadassah-WIZO Montreal committee, raised $260,000! These funds will be used to support concrete projects linked to the health, education and well-being of children in need, notably via the hospital and educational institutions of the Hadassah-WIZO network.
Testimonials and recognition
“This Pro-Am is much more than a golf tournament: it’s a meeting of sporting passion and humanitarian commitment,” emphasized Alanna Elias, Senior Director of Development and Campaigns. “Seeing so many people come together for such a noble cause is extremely touching.”
A success on every level
Elm Ridge Golf Club, historic host of numerous charity events, once again outdid itself to deliver an impeccable day for participants. From the staff’s welcome to the cocktail reception at the end of the day, everything came together to make this Pro-am an experience worthy of the mission it supports.
As teams left the club with smiles on their faces – some with prizes in hand, all with a sense of having contributed to an essential cause – the organizing committee has already announced its intention to return even stronger next year.
