Alpine Canada Supports SickKids Foundation with Limited Edition T-Shirt

Calgary, AB (January 20, 2020) – To commemorate and celebrate their 100th anniversary, Alpine Canada is excited to launch a limited-edition t-shirt in support of SickKids Foundation. The t-shirt, designed by 16-year-old ski racer and SickKids patient Christian Levec, highlights that β€œthe fight is different, but the goal is the same.”

Levec, of Peterborough, Ontario is a ski racer with the Devil’s Elbow Racing Club and more recently Brimacombe Racing.Β  He was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma last summer and is being treated at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. Christian’s design depicts a ski racer in the start gate and a patient in treatment, both challenges that he can relate to.

β€œTo me the design means that you should never give up on what you are fighting for. When I first got diagnosed I wasn’t sure how long I would live but now, eight months later, I have much more hope that the cancer will be gone forever and I can start skiing and being more active again.”

Proceeds from the shirts will support the SickKids VS Limits campaign and go towards the redevelopment of a new, state-of-the-art hospital, ground breaking research, and developing partnerships to deliver better care to children in Canada and around the world. Β

β€œWe are in the midst of the largest fundraising campaign in Canadian healthcare history and we’re grateful to Alpine Canada and their supporters for joining to help us reach our ambitious goal,” says Lisa Walker, Manager, Cause Marketing, SickKids Foundation. β€œThe funds raised from this initiative will help SickKids continue to fund the fight against the greatest challenges in child health.”

100 t-shirts will go on sale today with all proceeds going to SickKids Foundation. The t-shirts will be available for purchase through our online store at https://shop.alpinecanada.org
