Kingsey Falls, June 17th, 2025 – Mr. Hugues Simon, President and CEO of Cascades, personally welcomed the 23 recipients of the 21st edition of the Cascades Scholarship Program to the Aléo Foundation. A total of $100,000 in scholarships and services was awarded to the 2025 cohort in Kingsey Falls, the birthplace of the Quebec multinational.
As a prestigious partner of the Aléo Foundation since 2005, Cascades has been a major contributor to the Foundation’s success. Over the past two decades, its investment of more than $2,000,000 in Quebec student-athletes has had a profound effect on transforming the landscape of high-level sport for local athletes who combine both academic studies and elite-level sport. The impact is tangible and far-reaching.
For example, Cascades has been a springboard for Mikaël Kingsbury, Alex Harvey, Amélie Kretz, Émilie and Hugues Fournel and Alexandre Bilodeau — all recognized for their sporting achievements and professional contributions.
“At Cascades, we deeply believe in human potential. Partnering with the Aléo Foundation to support student-athletes is a collaboration directly aligned with our values. These young people have already achieved exceptional levels of success, and we want to give them an extra boost toward the realization of their goals. We’re very proud to be part of their support team!”
– Hugues Simon, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cascades
“In sport, as in philanthropy, loyal teammates — those we trust and with whom we share common goals — are essential. For the Aléo Foundation, Cascades is that teammate who delivers the primary assist on a game-winning basket. Together, we score points that lead to victories for our student-athletes in the classroom and on the field — victories that deliver sport’s greatest gift: fulfilled human beings.”
– Patricia Demers, Executive Director, Aléo Foundation

About the Aléo Foundation
The Aléo Foundation’s mission is to maximize the full potential of the greatest number of excellent student-athletes from all walks of life, in order to generate a significant and lasting impact. Founded in 1985, the organization has awarded over $25 million in scholarships to more than 5,000 student-athletes across Quebec. In addition to these bursaries, the Foundation also provides lifelong services to all recipients during and after their athletic and academic careers. To support these services, the Aléo Research Chair is now a vector of scientific results available to the entire sports community.
The Generations of Impact fundraising campaign aims to raise six million dollars over three years to bring us closer to our grand vision: that excellent student-athletes enrich society through their current and future leadership, both through their exceptional contributions and the inspiring examples they embody.
