Brossard (Québec) – Following close discussions with partners and feedback received from the sport community since the implementation of the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP), the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) is announcing the following adjustments to its service conditions, effective immediately.
The services below are now offered without service fees; however, a fixed filing fee of $300 applies to all proceedings arising from the CSSP:
- All requests for review to the Safeguarding Tribunal allowed under the CSSP, including requests by a person subject to a provisional measure or a final sanction consisting of a full and unconditional suspension, which are already offered free of charge;
- Appeals of Safeguarding Tribunal decisions arising from the CSSP.
These adjustments build on the conditions announced on July 30, 2025; all other previously announced conditions are maintained.
“We have always intended to offer these services at no cost, and this is now possible. Through close collaboration with our partners and feedback from the sport community, we now have the resources to do so while maintaining the sustainability and quality of our services.” — Francis Ménard, Chief Executive Officer, SDRCC
“We are pleased to see this adjustment to the original July 30 conditions set out by the SDRCC. As we stated previously, the right to appeal ensures accountability, builds trust in the system, and offers recourse for those who believe a decision was made in error. Removing potential barriers, such as fees, helps ensure this critical process remains accessible to all CSSP participants. We look forward to continued collaboration with the SDRCC and Sport Canada in this regard.” — Signy Arnason, Executive Director, Safe Sport at the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES)
