A Spectacular First Round at the PGA of Québec Championship

Grand-Mère, September 3, 2025] – The prestigious PGA of Québec Championship got underway today at the Grand-Mère Golf Club, kicking off what promises to be an exciting competition from start to finish. Bringing together fifty professionals from across the province, the first day offered a thrilling spectacle showcasing talent, strategy, and precision.

Christopher Vandette takes the lead

With a round of 67 (-3), Christopher Vandette is alone at the top of the leaderboard after 18 holes. His remarkable performance, punctuated by seven birdies, gives him a one-stroke lead over his closest rivals.

Behind him, James Colin Davis is in a solid position with a score of 68 (-2).

Notable highlights

The opening day was marked by a few memorable moments.

  • Steve Deschênes scored an eagle on hole #3, a 418-yard par 4!
  • Brandon Rattray also scored an eagle on hole #14, a 526-yard par 5.
  • James Colin Davis shot a 31 (-4) on his first 9.

Every shot counted, and spectators witnessed constant changes in the leaderboard.
