Maggie Mac Neil won gold in the women’s 50-m backstroke with a WORLD RECORD of 25.27

Kylie Masse earned silver in 25.62, under the previous Canadian record they shared. With her 10th career medal at FINA World Championships (long- and short-course), Masse becomes Canada’s most decorated FINA swimmer of all time. (Oleksiak/Cochrane, 9)
