July 29, 2025 – WINNIPEG, MB – Canoe Kayak’s Luke Enns (19, Winnipeg, River Heights) is Team Manitoba’s flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the 2025 Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland and Labrador.
This is the third time Enns will represent Team Manitoba at the Canada Games. He was a two-time bronze medallist in the Canoe Kayak K4 races at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, and competed in the 2023 Canada Winter Games in biathlon.
As one of the veteran Canoe Kayak athletes, Enns leads by example, and his calm presence resonates and supports the entire team. With only five years in the sport, he’s already represented Canada at international events, placed on the podium at the North American Indigenous Games, and has been recognized as a Tom Longboat Award recipient for his dedication to sport and commitment to giving back to his community.
“I wasn’t expecting this, but it’s pretty cool to represent Team Manitoba in this way,” said Enns.” “It’s pretty amazing [at a Canada Games] to see what can happen when you put your mind to it. There’s always an opportunity to do really well, and if you don’t end up exactly where you want to be, you’re still at the Canada Games.”
Enns is one of 374 athletes who will compete for Team Manitoba at the Games between August 8-25, 2025. The athletes will join 94 coaches and managers and 26 mission staff to participate in all 19 sports at the 2025 Canada Summer Games.
Team Manitoba is proud to partner with Zueike as the suppliers for our 2025 Canada Summer Games walkout uniform. Each piece is designed for comfort, built for pride, and ready for the podium. All participants will receive a jacket, long-sleeved shirt, t-shirt, pants, socks, hat, backpack, and a pair of slides with custom jibbitz.
