Rowing Canada Aviron – Today, the Canada Games Council (CGC) announced the initial slate of sports selected for the 2025 Canada Summer Games. Rowing is currently not one of selected sports for the 2025 Summer Games, however is ranked high on the list for the final selection. As stated in the Sport Selection Process, only 90% of the overall quota is selected initially by the Sport Committee. The remaining 10% of the quota will be selected at a later date. The CGC Sport Committee will meet to select the final sports/disciplines for the 2025 Canada Games following the host society selection.

“We are disappointed to learn that rowing was excluded from the initial slate of sport selections for the 2025 Canada Games, however we remain very optimistic about the final selection opportunity prior to 2023. Rowing is ranked on top of the list and we will work closely with our Provincial Rowing Associations to ensure our sport is best positioned for final selection.”
