2019 Fencing Canada Cup Is Set To Take Place This Weekend In Richmond, Bc

Fencing Canada – The 2019 Fencing Canada Cup is set to take place at the Richmond Oval in Richmond, British Columbia this weekend, with competition commencing on Friday, January 25th, 2019 and ending Sunday, January 27th, 2019.

Over 385 fencers, aged 12 to over 70, will take part in this weekend’s event along with their coaches and family members in support. In addition, some of Canada’s Olympians and top Senior National Team athletes will be taking part. Athletes will be competing in different age categories in epee, foil and sabre and the event will include team competition in the junior age category.

The Canada Cup performances from the junior and cadet athletes are important for their selection for the 2019 Junior and Cadet World Championships and will be some great matches to view. Attendance is free for spectators.

The CFF would like to highlight the support from VIA Sport during the Canada Cup and thank our sponsors, Absolute Fencing and Nike, who will have vendors on site during this exciting weekend.  The CFF also thanks the BCFA and its great volunteers who make the event possible.

Photos and updates from the event will be posted throughout the weekend on CFF’s Facebook page, and live results will be available through the CFF website at: http://www.fencing.ca/results/2019_jan_cc_richmond/
