10 Archers heading to Gwangju, Korea to compete at the 2025 Hyundai World Archery Championships

Ottawa, Ontario – Archery Canada is proud to announce the athletes who will represent Canada at the Gwangju 2025 Hyundai World Archery Championships, to be held in Gwangju Korea, from September 5th – 12th 2025


The Canadian team will consist of 4 Compound and 6 Recurve archers, who have all been dedicated to preparing for the World Championships this season.


Following their selection to the 2025 Compound National Team, the Compound team has been selected and training diligently for this event since March of this year, which included an in person camp at this years Canada Cup East. With Compound Archery added to the LA 2028 games, bringing the athletes together to begin focussing on team training, and mixed team, will be an integral part of their path to LA 2028. The 2025 World Championship Compound team is:


Compound – Women’s Team

  • Bryanne Lameg, Winnipeg, MB


Compound – Men’s Team

  • Andrew Fagan, Baltimore, ON
  • Jordan Adachi, Cranbrook, BC
  • Jean-David Morin, Montreal, QC


Staff:

  • Sean McKenty, Windsor, ON
  • Aaron Bull, Brandon MB


Joining them will be 6 recurve athletes, who earned their nomination following a competitive selection process. The 2025 World Championships will see Olympian’s Eric Peters and Virginie Chenier back on the competitive field on the World stage. Both the men’s and women’s teams are completed by athletes who have been successful on the international stage at recent events.

  • Janna Hawash, Cambridge, ON


Recurve – Men’s Team

  • Eric Peters, Kitchener, ON

The World Archery Championships are a key event on the international calendar, and the final event in our international outdoor season. This event will play a key indicator and launch point for both the Recurve and Compound teams towards LA 2028.
