The term “fat but fit” describes people who are overweight but who are within healthy ranges for blood pressure, blood sugar, and other metabolic measures. There are differing conclusions about whether carrying this extra weight is harmful, but a more recent study suggests that simply being obese may increase your risk of heart attack or stroke – even if you are healthy in all other ways.
