Thought your Fitbit was only good for tracking your 10,000 steps? Researchers at Standford Medicine have launched a new project to help stop the spread of COVID-19 by harnessing the 250,000+ measurements/day made by smartwatches and other wearable devices to detect early signs of viral infection. The team will develop algorithms based of key metrics including heart rate and skin temperature to identify immune system activity.
