Burnout in Young Athletes

Burnout is when an athlete loses interest in a sport they play because of physical and emotional exhaustion. Some signs of burnout in young athletes include loss of motivation, drop in athletic performance, and persistent fatigue. Parents and caregivers can support their children by encouraging a variety of activities and by focusing on what the athlete wants rather than their performance.
