We’re looking for volunteers for one of the most exciting events of the year – the 2025 Canadian Ringette Championships!
The competition will be hosted March 30 to April 5th at Ray Friel Recreational Complex and Richcraft Sensplex (Ottawa East) sport facilities with the medal games at Slush Puppie in Gatineau.
To register for a volunteer shift, please visit Signup Genius to select date, facility (Ray Friel, Richcraft Sensplex etc), rink, time, and the volunteer position that most interests you. A description of positions is below. A guide for using SignUp Genuius from a desktop is here.
We will need most of our help early in the week, from Monday, March 30 to Thursday, April 3. You can register for more than one volunteer shift – we guarantee you’ll love the atmosphere!
Minor Official roles, available by game (U16AA 1.5 hours, NRL 2 hours)
- Announcer: Announces all goals, penalties, etc. Plays music at breaks.
- Timekeeper: Works the clock.
- Penalty Box: Two per rink. Manages the penalty box for the duration of the game, records shots per team.
- Game Sheet / Scorekeeper: RAMP-trained or qualified volunteers enter scores into the RAMP application.
Arena Positions, available by 3:15 hour shifts:
- Ticket Sellers: Provide wristbands to ticket holders. Assist people with purchasing tickets. A QR code is needed at the entrance to speed up online account creation.
- Greeter: Located at the athlete’s entrance. Provides information on dressing rooms and rinks.
- Volunteer Table: Provides volunteers with information on location, role, and shift details.
- Door Security: Ensures all individuals have wristbands.
- Rink Coordinator: Manages each dressing room, providing access for teams. Oversees the Gatorade station. One per rink.
- 50/50 Ticket Seller: Responsible for selling 50/50 tickets.
