Overview:
The Ticketing and Sales Manager is a dynamic and hands-on role that combines leadership and individual sales responsibilities. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of ticket sales while also contributing directly to the team’s revenue growth by completing personal sales. The manager will be responsible for managing sales strategies, supervising the ticketing staff, and ensuring a seamless experience for customers purchasing tickets. This role requires a blend of leadership, sales expertise, and operational efficiency to meet revenue goals and contribute to the overall success of the team’s ticketing and fan engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ticket Sales Leadership and Personal Sales:

  •  Develop and implement ticket sales strategies for season tickets, voucher packs, group sales, premium seating, and single-game tickets to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Actively contribute to sales by completing individual sales, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals for season tickets, group packages, premium seating, and sponsorship assets
  •  Oversee the sales process from initial contact to final purchase, ensuring a high level of customer service and fan satisfaction.
  • Set individual and team sales goals, track progress, and provide coaching and support to achieve revenue targets.
  • Create and manage ticket promotions and campaigns to drive sales for key games, events, and seasonal offerings.

2. Team Management and Development:

  • Lead and motivate a team of ticket sales representatives, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing training, and evaluating team performance.
  • Foster a positive, goal-driven environment focused on collaboration, professional growth, and sales excellence.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members to ensure the team’s success.

3. Sales Reporting and Analytics:

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly ticket sales performance and provide detailed reports to ownership
  • Analyze sales data, trends, and customer behavior to optimize ticket offerings and adjust sales strategies.
  • Utilize ticketing and CRM systems (Monday.com) to track lead generation, sales activities, and conversion rates.

4. Fan Engagement and Customer Service:

  • Build strong relationships with existing season ticket holders and groups, ensuring high levels of customer retention.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and social media team to enhance fan engagement through targeted communications, renewals, and loyalty programs.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly, ensuring a positive experience throughout the ticket purchasing process.

5. Collaboration and Cross-Department Coordination:

  • Work closely with the marketing and events teams to ensure that ticket promotions align with overall team marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure that the ticketing process runs smoothly on game days
  • Coordinate with league representatives to stay informed of league-wide promotions, ticketing policies, and best practices.

6. Pricing Strategy and Inventory Management:

  • Assist in the development of pricing strategies for ticket sales, ensuring that prices are competitive and aligned with team and league standards.
  • Manage ticket inventory and ensure that available tickets are distributed effectively across multiple sales channels.
  • Oversee the complimentary ticket program, ensuring all distribution stays within the allocated amount to avoid exceeding limits and incurring additional fees.

7. Sales Campaigns and Promotions:

  • Create and execute sales campaigns to promote ticket sales during off-peak times, for special events, and during the offseason.
  • Develop targeted sales strategies for group sales, corporate partnerships, and community outreach.
  • Execute limited-time promotions, discounts, and special offers to drive ticket sales for specific games or events.

8. Budget and Financial Management:

  • Assist in managing the ticket sales budget, ensuring that financial goals are met and that resources are utilized efficiently.

9. Other

  • Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned by President to help further the organization’s goals and objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in ticket sales or sports sales
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding individual sales targets, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ticketing systems (e.g., Ticketmaster/Archtics).
  • Experience prospecting and generating new sales leads, with the ability to close deals and build long-term relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, staff, and senior management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a sales team.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and apply it to sales strategies.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Passion for sports, particularly basketball, and an understanding of fan engagement strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the sports industry, specifically with professional basketball or other live entertainment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems to track and manage customer relationships.
  • Experience working with pricing models and inventory management in a high-volume sales environment.
  • Knowledge of ticketing best practices and trends within the sports and entertainment industries.
