WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

Program Manager, Women and Girls
Reporting to the Director of Women and Girls Advancement, the Program Manager, Women and Girls is responsible for the development, scaling, management, and sustainability of programs targeting women and girls, supporting the Director in the growth and advancement of self-identifying women and girls in tennis in Canada. This individual is responsible for supporting the execution of Tennis Canada’s gender equity advancement strategy and will work collaboratively with all Tennis Canada partners to achieve annual engagement and delivery targets. This involves building community partnerships to understand unique circumstances to help execute impactful programming for our diverse population of women and girls across Canada, while setting up our partners for long-term sustainability beyond the life of the National Bank funding.

Program Development, Refinement, and Scaling

  • Lead the development, scaling, and connectivity of strategic cornerstone programming including Girls. Set. Match. and the GSE Community Tennis Grant, informed by latest research, best practice, and evaluation data.
  • Collaborate with the Coaching department on the development, delivery, and refinement of the Girls Leadership Program.
  • Refine the “Empowerment Pathway” to ensure the connectivity of our programming and work to sustain the engagement of participants in programming.
  • Support the development and execution of additional scholarship and mentorship programs and events with the Pro Events, Coaching and Officiating teams.

Program Management

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to plan and execute program events and activities, while capturing process, data, and learnings to support the integration of best practices within the women and girl’s portfolio, and more broadly across Tennis Canada to drive a culture of inclusivity.
  • Actively work to build relationships with key stakeholders to maximize opportunities to grow and diversify the participation of women and girls in tennis across all capacities in the sport.
  • Work cross functionally with the Tennis Canada marketing, communications, and content teams to produce engaging materials to support women and girls’ initiatives.
  • Support the planning and execution of the annual UNMATCHED Conference in August.
  • Support and execute the measurement and evaluation of all women and girls’ initiatives to understand the effectiveness of our interventions to improve the quality and reach and optimize opportunities for women and girls in tennis in Canada.
  • Lead the data analysis of all evaluation data.
  • Support the Director in budget management, tracking and invoicing.
  • Support working relationships with provincial and territorial partners and key funders.
  • Support the Director of Women and Girls to develop data tracking reports and progress presentations for the Senior Management Team and key funders.
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of all Game. Set. Equity. merchandise
  • Manage website development and updates in collaboration with the TC team.

Education and Influence

  • Work effectively, collaboratively, and cross-functionally with Tennis Canada staff to influence change in behaviors and or practices that will contribute to the advancement of women and girls in tennis.
  • Support the development and delivery of educational tools, presentations and resources for the Tennis Canada team and stakeholders and certification programs.
  • Support Tennis Canada’s approach to engaging with, recruiting, and retaining women and girls within diverse communities in tennis to make tennis one of the most compelling sports to be a part of in Canada.
  • Support the development of a Community partnership model for the Development department.
  • Work with colleagues to influence the establishment of an inclusive environment within tennis environments focused on creativity, shared opportunities and a culture of progressive and sustained improvement concerning the role of women and girls in tennis in Canada in all capacities.

General Requirements

  • Be an ambassador for the vision and direction of Tennis Canada concerning the advancement of women and girls in tennis and lead with passion.
  • Be available to travel across Canada as needed to support and/or lead programming and events.

WHO YOU ARE?

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Sport Management, Social Sciences, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience within a multi-stakeholder setting or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian amateur sport landscape and its structure and funding partners.
  • Extensive knowledge of the sport of tennis, backed by experience in the competitive structure and coaching.
  • Strong understanding of the factors influencing girls and women’s participation, retention and leadership in tennis and best practices in advancing opportunities for women and girls in sport.
  • Experience developing and managing programs.
  • Experience building and managing relationships across a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience networking and delivering outcomes through others – strong influencing, negotiating, facilitating, and collaborating skills due to the highly collaborative nature of this role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to liaise and communicate with people at all levels with a high level of diplomacy and professionalism to establish credibility quickly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Salesforce.
  • Bilingual (English and French) considered a strong asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS?

  • 1-year fixed term contract
  • Remote Hybrid office Schedule
  • Ability to travel in Canada as required
  • Reporting Location is Toronto
  • Office hours are monday to friday 9-5pm with flexibility
